Michael Haggiag
A Journey Through Art
Michael Haggiag's artistic journey began with the gift of a Kodak camera in his youth—a small moment that sparked a lifelong fascination with capturing the world through a lens. Growing up, Michael wasn't just taking pictures; he was laying the foundation for a unique vision that would later redefine how we perceive everyday objects.
At first, Michael pursued photojournalism, where he learned to tell stories through images. His career took a detour into publishing as the editor of Aurum Press in London, where he curated art and photography books. But the visual storyteller within him yearned for more. Eventually, his creativity found expression in filmmaking, where he founded Global Arts Productions, producing documentaries and dramas for Sotheby's and other high-profile platforms.
It wasn't until 2014, after retiring from film production, that Michael returned to his roots as a visual artist. This return wasn't just a revival—it was a metamorphosis. Armed with his camera and an insatiable curiosity, he began exploring urban landscapes with fresh eyes. Where others saw decayed walls or graffiti-covered streets, Michael saw canvases of color, texture, and untold stories.
Seeing Beauty in the Ordinary
Michael's art focuses on extreme close-ups of urban textures—peeling paint, cracked pavements, rusted metal, and graffiti-streaked surfaces. These fragments of everyday life, often overlooked, were transformed into mesmerizing abstract imagery. Through his lens, decay became vibrancy, and chaos turned into harmonious compositions. His work forces viewers to pause and reconsider the beauty hidden in plain sight.
His debut solo exhibition at Freight+Volume Gallery in New York was a revelation. Close-up photographs of walls and streets took center stage, inviting the audience to explore the intersection between photography and painting. The abstract nature of Michael's work blurs the boundaries between the two mediums, elevating mundane urban artifacts into visual masterpieces.
Nature Meets Urban: A Symphony of Textures
Not content to remain confined to the city, Michael expanded his focus to nature. His “Malibu” series captures the rugged cliffs of Malibu, where natural sculptures carved by wind and waves reflect the same intricate beauty he finds in urban decay. Whether urban or natural, Michael's art celebrates the textures, colors, and light that surround us.
A Legacy of Perception
Michael's art isn't just about the visuals—it's about changing how we see. Each photograph invites viewers to slow down and engage with the details of the world around them. His series like “Patchwork Quilt” exemplify his mastery, combining color, light, and texture into works that are as meditative as they are visually striking.

Michael Haggiag's journey, from a young boy with a Kodak camera to an acclaimed visual artist, is a testament to the power of perception. His art teaches us to find beauty in the overlooked, to appreciate the textures of life, and to celebrate the extraordinary hidden within the ordinary. Through Michael's lens, the world is transformed, one close-up at a time.

Prime Lane's Role: The Bahamas Cube Shipment
Prime Lane was responsible for the meticulous shipment of Michael Haggiag's "Bahamas Cube" from the UK to Los Angeles, USA, ready for display. The cube's unique and challenging shape required expert handling, and our team worked with precision to ensure it arrived safely and on time.
The packing process demanded attention to detail and thoughtful consideration. To protect the cube during its long journey, we created a custom-made crate with internal supports to ensure stability and prevent any movement within the packaging. This careful planning allowed us to address the complexity of the shape while ensuring the cube would arrive at its destination in perfect condition.
Throughout the entire shipping process, we provided full documentation support, including the required import/export paperwork, and tracked the shipment every step of the way. Our team ensured that every detail, from customs clearance to final delivery, was seamlessly managed, so Michael could focus on his art while we handled the logistics.
